Easy Going Senior Cats

Old kitties seem to take things in stride.
Perhaps it is from all the things they have been through, wisdom, losing their mind, or they just dont care anymore.
What ever it is, it makes them a great companion and sometimes less trouble.

My old cat Emma was very skittish when she was young. She freaked out about strangers visiting, new pets and pretty much anything different. As years went on and we went through tragedies, moves and other pets, she got so she wasn't scared of visitors, didn't care if I brought home a new pet and was fine with a move as long as there was a bed to sleep on.

Emma

Zoe  That I have done a couple posts on, is still going strong as she lives at a blind cleaning shop. She sits up on her bed like she is the queen. She doesn't mind the noisy vans and ultrasonic machine. She doesn't attempt to run off when the garage door is open. Content to a short walk around the room and back to her blanket.  Our dog, Cosmo a chihuahua is used to cats. When he comes in we head straight over to see Zoe and Cosmo licks her in the ear. She doesn't even mind. Probably happy to see someone her own size.

Yvette's old cat

A few times a year I baby sit Yvette's pets. She has had this old lady since before I first knew her many years ago. I cant remember her name, when I do I will fix it here. Anyways she loves every bit of attention she can get. She barely weights a pound.  Recently  I helped Yvette move to a different area. I put all the critters in my van. When we got to the new house, we took all the cats to one room so they could come out of the carriers. This old lady popped right out and check out the new view from the window. The other 5 younger ones continued to cower in their carriers for a while.

If you no and easy going senior kitty, please tell us about them in comments.
Thank you

Senior Calico Cats Need home South Seattle

Update march 25:
One of our Twitter friends shared the kitties situation with a group of people that help each other help pets. A guy was going to take them, but his apartment only allowed one. So a lady took them in that has another old kitty. So far all is good.
I am so thankful for my friends on twitter.

Update March 19:

I got photos! Brought some Fancy Feast with me. They are doing better because the place is cleaned up a bit. There is still lots of stuff there, but they can actually walk on the floor now. They are more brave too.

We thing they look much younger than they say. They are up up date on their vacs. A lot more color on them than I remember the first time, very beautiful and sweet ladies. The kids do feed them, but dont live close by, so the cats are alone most of the time.

They have till the end of the month to get a home.

Here are the photos.

Please help us find them a home. They are very used to being inside. Quiet and sleep lots.

Meet Patches and PJ.
Best I could do after seeing them just once. The mother is short haired and her daughter has medium long hair. Ages 14 and 16, and they look great.
Their owner has died. For now they are still in the apartment till all the stuff is sold. The person was a hoarder of books and other small things. The granddaughter of the owner is allergic, so they cant keep the cats.
So sad for the kitties, years they have lived and now they are scared and sad.
They really need a loving home together.
We are hoping to get photos of them soon.
please share this info.
Thank you very much.

Update on Senior kitty Zoe

I am so bad about keeping up with my blogs and didn't realize how long it has been. What have I been doing?
................
Anyways a couple posts ago, in March I wrote about Zoe, living at a business when she got so old to hold her bowels.

HERE is that post.

She is still doing great, even though it seemed her time was close. They have shaved her twice because she gets mats and gets her nails trimmed.

Luckily the floors are cement so they are easily cleaned. They keep blankies down for her with a heat pad and some items to make her feel at home.

She watches over the place like a noble queen.

Senior Cat stays at Business

This beautiful old lady is Zoe.

She stays at a blind cleaning business in WA state. She wasn't doing so well at home, pooping everywhere and getting thin. So the boss decided to keep her at his business. She is doing quite well, has her own bed and watches over the place. Her Pa has started to put some catnip in the litter and that is encouraging her to poo in the litter box.

She has been such a great energy added to the place, that when she does pass, they are considering adopting another senior kitty.

A senior cat is great for a business because they are wise and low key. They wont tear up everything or run off like a kitten would.

Please consider a senior kitty for your business.

Update:

Zoe got shaved as she couldn't keep up with her long fur anymore. She patrols the store and visits everyone. Her owner found she uses the litter box more if he puts catnip in it.  Her kids from home made her a poster as you can see in the pic.

When I took this pic our small pup came in with us also and cleaned here ears a little. He is very cat friendly.

Petie the Cat
